Conversations hosts the "2nd Annual Statewide Book Club Meet and Greet" in Mississippi!

ARE YOU READY FOR THE MOST EXCITING BOOK CLUB MEETING OF 2008?
Conversations Book Club, in partnership with Richard Wright Library and their literary partners, will be hosting the "Second Annual Statewide Book Club Meet and Greet" in Jackson, MS on Saturday, June 28, 2008. The event will take place at the Richard Wright Library (515 W. McDowell Road * Jackson, MS) and will be geared towarded allowing all book clubs and book lovers throughout the state to come together and discuss what unites them all: BOOKS!



SATURDAY, June 28, 2008
11-12:00p.m. --- Meet and greet with authors and book lovers (Bring your lunch as well as your books to get them signed)
12-1:00p.m. --- FORUM: The Business of Books (Authors discusss the joys and politics of publishing)
1:15-2:15p.m. --- FORUM: The Pros and Cons of Book Clubs (Can they do more harm than good?)
2:30-3:30p.m.--- What are YOU reading? Book lovers speak about what's hot and what's not.

Each session will be moderated by Conversations Book Club President Cyrus A. Webb. Bestselling author Tina Brooks McKinney kicks off Walmart Conversations!

"WALMART CONVERSATIONS" Book Club kicked off on Monday, June 16,2008 and will continue every 3rd Monday at 6p.m. at the Wal-Mart on HWY 18 in Jackson, MS.

First of all Conversations Book Club would like to thank our literary partner, Savvy Book Club, for taking good care of our guest, Bestselling author Tina Brooks McKinney. Savvy had McKinney as a guest during their book club meeting on Saturday and spent time with her on Sunday before joining us for the debut of this exciting new book discussion group in South Jackson.
Also joining the Walmart discussion was book club member/author Voncele Savage. This group hopes to continue to encourage reading in the South Jackson area.
To Tina we say thank you for you continued support of the work we are doing in Mississippi and beyond. We didn't get to spend as much time with you during your second trip, however, we know you were well taken care of.

Bestselling author Trice Hickman's first trip to Mississippi and even her first book promotion in Memphis, TN were an ultimate success June 13-14, 2008---thanks to all of you!

After a blow-out day on Friday, June 13th in Mississippi, Hickman kicked off Saturday, June 14th with her first book sale at McDonalds in Canton, MS when stopping for breakfast.
She along with Conversations Book Club members Cyrus A. Webb and Voncele Savage made the trek to Memphis, TN where they had a discussion at Borders and were even able to meet some friends of Hickman's other half. Once again books were sold, and a productive weekend came to an end.
